What’s on Tap for the 2nd Annual Red, White & Brew
The return of Red, White & Brew Craft Beer Festival at Buttonwood Park Zoo is this Friday, May 20th! If you are one of the many who plan on going, here's some things you'll want to know.
Tickets: Tickets will be available online until Friday at noon and can be purchased here or with cash at the Fun107/WBSM studios in Fairhaven. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the zoo gates (cash only) on a first come, first serve basis beginning at 5pm. This is absolutely a 21+ event, no exceptions (including babies).
Doors will open at 5:30p. Have your tickets ready, either on your phone or printed. We will have multiple folks scanning tickets to make the wait as minimal as possible. The NBPD will be ID'ing anyone who appears underage so have your ID's handy if you're under 25.
Parking: The zoo parking lot is available for this event (use the Hawthorn Street entrance). Anyone parking around the surrounding neighborhoods are asked to be respectful of those neighborhood and keep an eye on pedestrian traffic. BONUS: If you are not in shape to drive home- don't! Our event sponsor, Southcoast Towing has offered to tow your car home for you.
Souvenir Sampling Glass: Each person will receive a souvenir sampling glass to use throughout the night. You may sample as much great beer as you'd like during the event but please know that pourers and brewers will be using their discretion if someone appears to have had too much to drink. The legal pour size in the state of Massachusetts is 3oz; don't give your brewer any grief for not giving you more!
Food: There will be multiple food options at this event and the Bear Den Cafe will be open for business!
Music: Two of the Southcoast's favorites will be on hand to keep this night full of signs and sounds. Craig DeMelo will be near the bear den and Rebecca Correia will be hanging out with Molly the coyote.
Zoo Details: Although the event itself is contained to a portion of the zoo, the zoo is open and available for you to stroll around. If you haven't been in a few years, this is a nice way to get reacquainted with some of your childhood favorites. Plus, this is a great way to get a sneak peak at the new elephant enclosure set to open any day now.
Sponsors: A special thank you to our event sponsors for making this event possible, including our presenting sponsor Luzo Fuel, Douglass Wine & Spirits, Cape Air, Acushnet Vapor Company, Southcoast Towing and the Quahog Republic/Whaler's Tavern. We couldn't have this great time without your support!
