What is going on at dNB Burgers?  That was the burning question over the long 4th of July weekend in New Bedford.  Nothing is more American than burgers on the 4th of July, but instead of serving them up all weekend, the popular downtown burger spot was shut down tight.

The sign on the door read:

"dNB Burgers will be closed for construction AND the celebration of our nation's independence from Sunday, July 2nd through Tuesday the 4th! We will reopen for regular service at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, July 5th! See you then burger fam!"

Some regular patrons were nervous, however...as they peeked through the glass doors. From the looks of the downstairs dining room, however, dNB didn't look like they were anywhere near opening...the restaurant looked more like a construction site than a burger joint on Wednesday morning.

We put Gazelle on the case.  He was waiting at the door at 11:30am sharp.  Have no fear, burger lovers.  They are still serving upstairs while they complete renovations downstairs.  dNB Burgers tells us that a revamped version of their downstairs will be opened "in a couple of days".  Owners wanted to get rid of the bar downstairs now that they have one upstairs.  Expect 20 more tables to be added to the New Bedford hotspot.  The restaurant will be CASH ONLY during the renovation.
