What Should the Carousel Skating Building Become?

Late last year when Carousel Family Fun Center closed its doors, the rumor was that it would simply turn into a storage facility.

How disappointing would that be? The rink, along with the mini-golf, was one of the true gems of the town of Fairhaven. While I don't think anything will truly fill that void quite the same, I definitely don't want some storage company to take the space over.

Now in case you are looking to invest, the building is listed for sale and a modest price of $1.7 million.

I know if I had the money to do something with this I'd definitely consider opening up an adult arcade. Come on, the mini-golf course is already there; maybe I'd even add a walk-up ice cream window. Think about it: it's the perfect location for anyone on the bike path to stop and grab a cone or just come hang out and play some games while having a beer or cocktail. It's a total destination spot.

We tried to come up with some possibilities for the space among the Fun 107 crew. One suggestion is that it could be turned into a gym with showers and a pool. Another was the possibility of it turning into a bike rental spot, with the bike path right there – which would make perfect sense, but I think would be totally boring.

What do you think should go here? What does Fairhaven need? Don't say another grocery store either, although I'd love to have a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's but we know that isn't going to happen.
