Another Wednesday, another excuse to talk about animals.

Wet Nose Wednesday is here again, giving us a chance to spotlight one of the hundreds of animals that are up for adoption on the SouthCoast. With the help of local shelters, we share their stories.

This week, we head to Fairhaven Animal Shelter in Fairhaven where a young lab is dealing with a permanent case of the zoomies.

Meet Gustav. Gustav is a 2-year-old yellow lab mix and he is full of energy.

"He's been to two different shelters and has been returned twice due to his energy level," said the shelter. "He needs to run a lot"

Gustav recently made a best friend at the shelter named Hershey, and they love playing with each other.

"We would love to see them go together but we know that is asking a lot," said the shelter.

Even if you can't adopt both Gustav and his new best friend, Hershey, Gustav is ready to bring joy to an active forever family. His future family will have to be up for walks, playing fetch, and playing outside. A lot of energy doesn't mean Gustav is a bad dog, he just needs to find the right family that can cater to his energy level.

Does Gustav sound like a good fit for you and your family? Contact Fairhaven Animal Shelter, like them on Facebook, and schedule a play date today.

Gustav can't wait to meet you.

Scroll through this list and try your best to guess if the dog is a boy or a girl based on just its face. Good luck!

If SouthCoast Dogs Had a Dating App, It Would Look Something Like This

August 26 is International Dog Day, and it got me thinking. What if there was a way for dogs to connect with other dogs in the area to make new friends? Or maybe even find love? Twenty-six dogs living on the SouthCoast sent me their profile picture and bio. Let's see the eligible pups.
