Happy Wet Nose Wednesday! Let's talk animals.

If you are considering a new pet, consider adoption. There are hundreds of animals on the SouthCoast waiting for a place to call home.

Thanks to local shelters, these animals have a fighting chance.

Each week, we give the spotlight to one animal, and this week, the spotlight belongs to an 11-year-old collie mix who hopes to live out the rest of his life with a loving family.

Meet Flapjack. Flapjack is around 11 years old and currently resides at Forever Paws Animal Shelter in Fall River.

Weighing in at 53 pounds, this collie mix is a big boy with a lot of love to give.

"He's such a friendly, sunshiney guy that is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face," said the shelter.

Despite his age, Flapjack is full of energy. Balls are his favorite, he's an expert at playing fetch, and he's not afraid to ask for love and affection on a daily basis.

Flapjack is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. All there is left to do is find him the perfect family.

Does Flapjack sound like a good fit for you and your family? Contact Forever Paws online, fill out an application, and schedule a playdate asap.

Flapjack cannot wait to meet you.
