Happy Wet Nose Wednesday! Let's talk animals.

Hundreds of animals on the SouthCoast are waiting for loving families. Thanks to local shelters, these animals get a fighting chance.

Each week, we spotlight one lucky animal in hopes of uniting them with the perfect home.

Let's head to Fall River where a lively pup wants to steal your heart.

Meet Fiona.

Fiona is a cute terrier at Forever Paws Animal Shelter in Fall River.

"Fiona is a personable, intelligent girl with all the wonderful qualities a terrier has to offer," the shelter said. "While she is high energy, she's not the type to be bouncing off the walls at a moment's notice. It comes out during playtime, where she'll run, jump, and shake her plushies to death."

Once she gets her walk in, she becomes the best cuddle buddy.

She knows several commands: sit, down, stay, come, paw, other paw, roll over, and speak.

"This is just the tip of the iceberg for a smart girl like her, so we encourage any potential adopters to keep her practiced with what she does know and help her learn some new ones," the shelter said.

Fiona is a bit selective with other animals but shows no signs of aggression.

"We'd love for her to be in a home where she'll be mentally and physically stimulated, able to be handled confidently and, most of all, well-loved," the shelter said.

If SouthCoast Dogs Had a Dating App, It Would Look Something Like This

August 26 is International Dog Day, and it got me thinking. What if there was a way for dogs to connect with other dogs in the area to make new friends? Or maybe even find love? Twenty-six dogs living on the SouthCoast sent me their profile picture and bio. Let's see the eligible pups.
