Westport Hot Dog Stand Launches Mobile Trailer
There’s a small business off of Route 6 in Westport that's living proof that sometimes the biggest dreams start with something as simple as a hot dog stand and a whole lot of determination.
At just 21 years old, Alexia Williams is officially taking her business mobile. Her popular roadside spot Lexi’s Road Dogs is now hitting the road with its very own bright red food trailer, bringing her signature hot dogs and homemade specials all across the SouthCoast.
The trailer itself started as a free Facebook Marketplace find. “It’s actually been a goal of mine since I was little,” Williams said. “I’ve always either wanted a restaurant or a food truck.”
For Williams, the restaurant came first. Now comes the next chapter.

From Free Trailer to Fully Functional Food Truck
According to Williams, her dad stumbled across the trailer online for free and immediately saw potential. Since he always wanted to build a food truck himself, the two teamed up to make it happen. A month later, after cutting serving windows, installing counters, decorating the inside, adding menu signage and completely transforming the trailer from scratch, the project was officially complete.
The coolest part? Technically, it’s not even drivable. “It’s towable,” Williams explained. “So there’s no problems where it can break down.” The bright red trailer is impossible to miss and perfectly fits the “road dogs” name people already know around Westport and across the SouthCoast.
Lexi Already Has Major Events Planned
Williams said she already has several appearances lined up including Shellstock in Westport and Reggae on West Beach in New Bedford, with hopes of eventually landing a spot at the Westport Fair, too.
One event especially means a lot to her: the Westport Fourth of July parade. For the past four years, people along the parade route have wondered where the hot dogs were. This year, they’ll finally get their answer.
Williams plans to set up the trailer along the parade route so people can actually stop and grab food during the festivities. “I’m trying to expand my business,” she said. “This way I can go on the road so people will definitely see me.”
What Will Be on the Menu?
Fans of Lexi’s Road Dogs can expect most of the staples they already love, including hot dogs, appetizers, desserts, chips and drinks. There will also be homemade specials like mac and cheese, pasta salad and even chow mein. One thing missing for now: french fries and chicken.
Williams explained those items simply take too long to cook inside a busy trailer setup and she wants customers getting their food quickly instead of waiting around.
