Watson Elementary in Fall River was on lockdown this afternoon.

The Herald News is reporting that police are searching the area near the school for a person suspected of being involved in criminal activity and have put the elementary school on lockdown.

As of about 3 pm this afternoon the school was no longer on lockdown and the superintendent says school will be dismissed at the usual time,

The only change to the school's dismissal this afternoon is that all students will be leaving by one door. Only one exit will be opened during school dismissal today.

There still are no further details on what that criminal activity may be.
