Wareham Police Arrest Two for Allegedly Stealing from Ulta Beauty, T.J. Maxx
WAREHAM (WBSM) — Two people have been charged with stealing nearly $6,000 in merchandise, including items allegedly stolen from the Wareham Ulta Beauty and T.J. Maxx stores.
Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced today Bianca L. Cruz, 35, of Lowell and Jeremy Menendez, 34, of Nashua, New Hampshire pleaded not guilty today at an arraignment in Wareham District Court on one count each of organized retail crime and larceny over $1,200.
On Tuesday, May 7 at about 7:26 p.m., Wareham Police responded to a report of shoplifting from the Ulta Beauty store in Wareham Crossing. The employee who reported the theft said a man and woman entered the store, filled up several bags with an estimated $1,200 of perfume and beauty products, and left the store without paying.
The two then left in a green Kia Soul.
After Wareham Police put out a BOLO alert on the vehicle, Massachusetts State Police located it traveling along Interstate 495 and pulled the vehicle over. Cruz was driving, Menendez was a passenger and another female, identified as the owner of the vehicle, was also in the car.
“Police were interviewing the female motor vehicle owner, and Menendez, when Cruz accelerated away from the scene, running over the female’s foot and causing injury,” the D.A.’s Office said. “She was transported to a hospital for treatment. She is not being identified or charged at this time.”
Both Cruz and the car were later located in Bridgewater, and Cruz was placed under arrest.
A search of the vehicle turned up more than $4,500 in Ulta products and $1,400 in stolen items tracked to the Wareham T.J. Maxx.
After their arraignment today, Cruz was held on $50,000, and Menendez was held on $500 cash bail. Their next court appearance is June 7.
