Wareham Man Indicted For Shooting His Father With a Ghost Gun
BROCKTON (WBSM) — A Wareham man has been indicted on multiple charges after he allegedly shot and killed his father with a ghost gun he constructed from YouTube.
Robert Gomes III, 26, was indicted on one count each of murder, firearm-armed assault to murder a person 60 or over, assault and battery with a firearm, possession of a firearm without an FID Card, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, and carrying a loaded firearm without a license.
The charges date back to November 27, 2023, when Wareham Police received 911 calls reporting a shooting at a home on Main Street.

Officers found Robert Gomes Jr, 61, outside on the porch, suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation by Wareham and Massachusetts State Police at the home revealed several shell casings and a ghost gun with an obliterated serial number.
Police said Gomes III purchased the gun online and constructed it himself following YouTube instructional videos.

Gomes III was taken into custody and is currently held without bail. He will be arraigned in Brockton Superior Court at a later date.
