A Wareham woman was pulled over Saturday night on Main Street by a man in a pickup truck or SUV with flashing blue lights.

The 29-year-old said that at first he appeared to be dressed as an officer would be, but after she rolled down her window she could small alcohol on his breath.  He then told her that she had a tail light out, to show her driver's license and to step out of her car.   At that point, she attempted to drive away.

It was then that the man struck her in the face with his flashlight.   Police are now looking for a white man around 40 years old, who is about 5 feet, 8 inches tall.   He was wearing a dark shirt under a bright yellow coat.   Wareham police advise us not to stop in any remote or unlit areas.   They say to call 9-1-1 or head to the nearest police station.
