Halloween Surprise on Windshield Warms Wareham Mom’s Heart
A Wareham mom was having a challenging time with her son who has sensory sensitivity, but humanity stepped in to help her out and it's a lesson to all of us.
Challenges of Parenting a Child with Sensory Sensitivities
Mia Sacchetti and her two-year-old son were shopping at the Dollar Tree on Tobey Road in Wareham. Like many parents, Sacchetti was looking to make her hard-earned money go as far as it could, which can be tough when you have a sensory-challenged two-year-old who wants you to buy them everything they see.
We have all witnessed little ones throwing a tantrum over not being able to get a toy or other item in the store. Sacchetti, being the patient parent, explained to her child why he couldn't get some Halloween decor that caught his eye.
"Mama, doesn't have a lot of money this week," she told him.
It's not easy being a parent these days, never mind the parent of a child that has sensory sensitivities. You have no choice but to bring them with you on errands that you know may trigger them.

A Simple Act of Kindness at Dollar Tree
We have some amazing humans that live on the SouthCoast, and to Sacchetti's surprise, when she walked back to her car, someone had left a Halloween skeleton on the windshield.
How a Small Gesture Made a Big Difference
It was a simple, kind gesture but to that mom, her day was turned around and her son's mind was settled.
It may have taken two seconds for the unknown patron to decide to leave that skeleton on her windshield, but the ripple effect of that kindness has reminded thousands that it costs nothing to be kind.
A Halloween Surprise That Brightened a Child’s Day
Sacchetti said her son still plays with the toy skeleton and loves it.
"He is all excited about Halloween since he got it," she said.
