Wareham High School Presents Rent! School Edition
The Wareham Viking Theater Company presents the musical Rent! School Edition tonight at 7 p.m.
Rent takes place in the 90's and follows a group of friends who struggle with relationships, money, and the effects of the AIDS epidemic going on. The main cast includes Roger Davis (Coleby Paling) a musician who is HIV positive, Mark Cohen (Zach Flanigan) the narrator of this story and an aspiring filmmaker, Benny Coffin III (Nick Dix) Roger and Mark's former roommate but now landlord, Tom Collins (Matt Thompson) an HIV positive anarchist who was expelled from MIT, Angel Schunard (Brooke Cannon) a drag queen and street percussionist who is also HIV positive, Mimi Marquez (Mikaylee McEwan) a stripper who is addicted to heroin which has resulted in her contraction of HIV, Joanne Jefferson (Hannah Eddleston) a lesbian ivy league lawyer and activist, and Maureen Johnson (Abby Glidden) a bisexual performance artist.
Students have been working their hardest trying to get such a big production together and now they're ready to show what they've been rehearsing every day for the past few months.
Wareham's Drama Club will be showing this production on May 11th at 7 p.m., May 12th at 7 p.m., May 13th at 7 p.m., and a Mother's Day showing at 10:30 a.m. that also feature's a brunch. The show is rated PG-13 so children under 13 is not recommend.
