WAREHAM (WBSM) — A chimney fire in Wareham this morning remains under investigation after it grew to a second alarm.

Fire Breaks Out Early on Indian Neck Road

This morning at 6:21 a.m., the Wareham Fire Department responded to 150 Indian Neck Road for a report of a chimney fire.

Second Alarm Brings Mutual Aid from Neighboring Towns

Crews arrived to find that the blaze had extended beyond the chimney, with heavy fire conditions. A second alarm was ordered, bringing in assistance from the Marion, Onset and Carver Fire Departments.

Firefighters Knock Down Blaze Within 30 Minutes

Firefighters were able to knock the fire down within a half hour. Crews remained on the scene for several hours overhauling the area. There were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
