Usher has spoken out about the incident surrounding his son Usher Raymond V, who was injured in a pool accident this past week.

He thanked fans for the love they've shown him and his oldest child, 5, and he also threw props to the people who rescued the boy after his arm become lodged in a pool drain when he dove to retrieve a toy.

Usher's press statement is as follows: "I am blessed and fortunate to say that my son Usher V is doing well and is recovering. I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers, love and support for my family's well-being."

Two contractors working at Usher's Atlanta home dove into the pool to save the boy after his aunt Rena Oden and a maid were unsuccessful at freeing him from the drain's grip on his arm. They also administered CPR. Usher was quick to give them public props for saving his son from drowning.

"I would especially like to thank the two men who saved my son's life, Eugene Stachurski and Ben Crews," Usher said. "They are true heroes and I am deeply grateful to them."

While Usher is relieved that his son is okay, he has to deal with his ex-wife Tameka taking him back to court over custody of the older boy and their other son, Naviyd Ely, 4. Usher has primary custody, which he won after engaging in a bitter battle with Tameka. She sought an emergency hearing for Friday, Aug. 9, to revisit their arrangement, as she feels the safety of the children has been compromised under Usher's care.
