State House News Service reports the UMass Board of Trustees voted to approve the increases at its quarterly meeting on Wednesday.

As for graduate students, those at UMass Law (which is also located in Dartmouth) will see their tuition increase by 2% — but other Dartmouth-based graduate students will not see their tuition go up.

This means an in-state UMD undergraduate student next year will be paying $15,208 in tuition, while an in-state UMass Law student will pay $30,765.

Meanwhile the cost of room and board at UMass Dartmouth is also set to rise, by 2.5% for housing and by 3% for on-campus dining options.

Tuition and other costs at UMass Dartmouth went up last year as well.

Undergraduates paid on average 2.5% more this academic year than the year before — the first time tuition went up in two years.

Meanwhile room and board went up between 1.9 and 3.9% last year.

This year's increases are comparable to those at other UMass campuses in Boston and Lowell, according to State House News Service — but UMass Amherst students will see their room and board costs go up by 4.5% next year.
