Two men from Iowa have been arrested on gun charges after they made violent threats on social media to those attending the Pokemon World Championships in Boston.

According to WPRI 12, Boston police stated on Sunday that the threats were reported on Thursday by convention security. Hours later, the suspects were stopped as they were about to enter the event.

The police released the men, but seized their car after finding out that they had the potential to have guns inside their car.

On Friday, police searched the car and found a 12-gauge shotgun, an AR-15 rifle, a hunting knife, and several hundred rounds of ammunition. 18-year-old Kevin Norton, and 27-year-old James Stumbo, were arrested at their hotel in Saugus, Massachusetts.

The two men from Iowa are being arraigned on firearms charges today. It is unknown at this time if they have attorneys.
