Well, here we go again. Another playoff game, another wrench thrown into the plans of the visiting team.

As New England Patriots fans gear up to cheer on Drake Maye and the boys in the AFC Championship Game, many have been met by a shocking message from Ticketmaster.

For those attempting to purchase tickets for the Sunday, January 25 game, the popular ticket site has issued the following message:

"Due to limited availability, tickets will be sold only to those with a billing address in the Rocky Mountain region, including Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Montana, South Dakota and Western Kansas."

That's right, if you live in the New England region, heck if you live outside the Denver time zone, you're out of luck.

Am I Having Déjà Vu?

This has happened before, and again, local fans were up in arms. Remember the 2025 playoff series between the Red Sox and the Yankees?

It may have been just months ago, but we can still feel the sting of exclusion that Ticketmaster delivered to Red Sox Nation.

During that particular series, the Sox were gearing up to play at Yankee Stadium. However, New York put a big ban in place to local Sox fans.

Tickets were sold only to credit card billing addresses in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Essentially, just Yankees fans.

Sox fans could still buy tickets, they just had to turn to resale sites to get them.

Why Do This?

For many teams, the intention is to limit scalpers and those trying to make a pretty penny reselling tickets they never intended to use for themselves.

For that reason (and only that reason), I can understand it. So many live events are costing an arm and a leg nowadays, and a big reason is because you have to turn to resale sites where ticket prices are outrageous.

For the record, if you were planning on attending the game at Mile High Stadium, you'd be paying a lot even without resale costs. Ticketmaster has seats available ranging from $523 to more than $2,300.

The Denver Broncos will face the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game Sunday, January 25, 2026 at 3 p.m. ET.
