The World’s Fastest Boats Will Be In Fall River This Weekend
Fall River will be hosting the Offshore Powerboat Association race from Borden Light Marina, with fireworks on Saturday
This weekend, Fall River will host two of Offshore Powerboat Association's 4,000 horsepower catamaran racing boats this Saturday at Borden Light Marina. This is the third year the OPA will be hosting a race in Fall River, and each year the event has increase in popularity.
The fun begins Friday when the boats arrive in the marina. People are welcome down to the waterside to wander the pits and see boats from all over the country.
Saturday will be the practice day, with events happening on the water from 1pm-4pm. Sunday is race day with races happening from noon to 5:30pm. Spectators will be able to observe the practices and races on either side of the Taunton River, but spectators viewing on boats are forced to observe on the west side of the river.
Saturday will be holding a fireworks display on Saturday beginning at 9pm from Lower Kennedy Park, celebrating both the race and the Holy Ghost Feast.
