There's a beach on lower Cape Cod that has its share of whale sightings, and to say they are happy to see the whales coming is an understatement.

The Wellfleet team of lifeguards LOVE their job and also work very hard at educating beachgoers, posting on their Facebook page several educational events about safety.

Here's a recent post from the Wellfleet lifeguards:

"Along with improving our response capabilities, one of our main focus areas this summer is to improve public education about ocean risks, including sharks. We want to get you accurate, factual information about sharks and other hazards so that you can make an informed decision about how you interact with the ocean. We think this series by the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy in partnership with NBC10 Boston is a great way to get you the latest news about sharks in our area. Episode 3 features Wellfleet, but all of the episodes contain great info. Let us know what you think! And if you have additional questions, come visit us at the lifeguard stand. We love talking to our beach patrons and answering your questions!"

A pretty big whale was spotted at Newcomb Hollow Beach a few days ago and here's the exclusive video taken by lifeguard Adriana Picariello:

And here is the actual Facebook post from the Wellfleet lifeguard team. 🌊🐳⚓️
