The SouthCoast’s Original Tiny House Can Be Yours
I'm sure you've seen the HGTV show Tiny House Hunters. If that has sparked your interest in down-sizing to a compact home, there is one available right here on the SouthCoast.
I'll first give you the pluses. This property is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Mattapoisett. The lot is three-quarters of an acre and includes a three-foot wide path to the beach, which is on the opposite side of the very quiet street.
And when it comes to heating, or cooling the building, or even cleaning, how easy would that be? And the slanted roof would be perfect for solar panels or a solar panel.
I spoke to Laura, the realtor. She was very nice, cordial and informative. She did tell me some things you may consider a downside. The "house" has no indoor plumbing. There also are no wheels like most of the new tiny houses have. It us currently used for storage by some of the neighbors.
However, this is a piece of real estate in an area where the neighboring beach homes are valued at many hundreds of thousands of dollars. The street and the beaches are very private.
The asking price: $250,000. The realtor did say this price is negotiable. The building itself may not be perfect, but the area certainly is, especially during summer months.
