This 4th of July expect to see brilliant fireworks off of Silvershell Beach in Marion.

The Firework Committee spoke on the Fun Morning Show recently and asked for help reaching their goal of raising $50,000. The Marion Fireworks Committee announced today that they have reached their goal. The fireworks are funded completely by private funds and support from the community. On any given year you can expect to see more than a thousand people on the shore anticipating the firework show.

The fireworks have become a staple for many in Marion and the surrounding communities. Donations poured in from citizens of not only Marion but also Mattapoisett and Rochester, in hopes of following the tradition.

Last year The Marion Fireworks Committee only raised about $35,000 of the $50,000 needed to put on the show, leaving the community without a firework extravaganza.

This year's fireworks will take place on Saturday night, July 4th at approximately 9pm (weather permitting).
