A bar in Marion has responded on social media after one of their servers was accused of assault.  The incident in question happened Saturday night at River Junction on Route 6 in Marion.  The bar sits on the former site of Gilda's Stone Rooster on the Marion/Wareham line.

Kayla Boerboon of Wareham claimed that she was assaulted by one of the restaurant's waitresses after she asked her to send her original waitress back over to her table.  Boerboon said she had to ask twice to try to get some service.

"I went around the bar to the POS system where all the waitresses were. I saw the older waitress there who I had asked to grab our waitress and again just told her I wanted a waitress to come over. She had a pizza in her hand and stepped inches from my nose and said I don't appreciate you being rude and disrespectful interrupting me while I'm talking to my table. I was so taken back I've never been treated that way in an establishment. I asked her if this is how they treat their guests and at that point she proceeded to shove her hand in my face and start pushing me. Other people jumped in to get the waitress off me."

Marion Police were called to the scene, but the town's chief of police said the altercation was over by the time they arrived. Chief Richard Nighelli tells Fun 107 that after reviewing the bar's surveillance video and speaking to a witness, responding officers confirmed that the two women had words before pushing one another in the chest.  Police say they did not see the waitress shove the customer's face on the video, something that a witness sitting at the bar confirmed.

Fun 107 spoke with one of River Junction's owners, John Mello, on Monday morning.  Mello directed us to a statement the bar made in response to Boerboon's social media post.  "We don’t like that you had a bad experience. We don’t like that you were feeling ignored. We would have loved the opportunity to improve based on your feedback. But we’ve worked too hard on this project to allow someone to take their gripe to social media where exculpatory evidence like surveillance footage and witness testimony is not available."  The bar has chosen not to release the video at this time.

Marion Police say both women have agreed not to press charges.

Boerboon did not respond to Fun 107's request for comment, and eventually turned off the ability to comment on her post.  River Junction's statement says that the rest of the people in Boerboon's party asked if it was OK for them to stay after she was asked to leave.
