A $2,000 cash prize, courtesy of MDC Music in Toronto, will be awarded to the IPMA “New Talent” winner. The New Talent finalists, Keiyanna Marie Trinidad and RAFAELLA will sing live at the show with a panel of judges secretly scattered among the audience. These judges will rate the performances and select the winner, which will be announced that night.
“MDC Music is a place where young creative minds come together to collaboratively produce music and art,” explains Manuel DaCosta, President of MDC Music. “In partnership with IPMA, we are thrilled to give a platform to new Luso artists.”
The People’s Choice Award will be voted on via IMPA’s website. Voting will begin around next week. The top four artists with the most votes will be named finalists, and the one out of the four with the highest number of votes will be deemed the winner.
The show will be broadcasted on The Portuguese Channel, Camoes TV, Xfinity On Demand, and worldwide through RTP International at a later date. During the awards show, live updates will be posted on IMPA’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
