Ask anyone, this time of year is my favorite. Regardless of what holidays you celebrate, you have to admit that this time of year always brings a change in the spirit around us.

I usually choose to work during the holiday so many of the traditions are missed, but thanks to social media I'm able to keep up with everything.

This week is a big one for the town of Plymouth. With their parade and other traditions, many make the drive to Plymouth to not only witness the traditions that date back many years but to also educate the younger generations. It's not just about the holiday that is coming up; it's also about the history behind what helped form our country.

I couldn't tell you the last time I made it to Plymouth Rock or Plymouth Plantation. I can assure you I am due for a visit, as my memories of much of its history I can't recall.

While I may have had to work in the Fun 107 studio, I was thrilled to see that one of my cousins was asked to help in a traditional shooting demonstration, while another cousin of mine got to witness their first Thanksgiving parade in the town where the first Thanksgiving took place.

Here is a video of my older cousin in his uniform, working the shooting demonstration:

This week, The Rock and Fox Show will hit the road to broadcast from the location of the first Thanksgiving and I'm kind of jealous. There's no denying the spirit of the holiday when you take it back to where it all started.

How are you going to be spending the holiday?
