A Taunton man has died after drowning in Plymouth.

Massachusetts State Police say that at approximately 11:12 a.m. Sunday troopers were sent to Curlew Pond in Myles Standish State Forest over a report of a drowning.

While en route troopers were advised that the victim, identified only as a 69-year-old man, was taken out of the water and that CPR was being administered to him.

Witnesses said that the victim wasn't wearing a personal flotation device.

The man was taken to Beth Israel Hospital in Plymouth where he was later pronounced dead.

The incident remains under investigation by troopers assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.

State Police say Massachusetts Environmental Police, Plymouth Police, Plymouth Fire and EMS Departments, also provided assistance on scene.
