Taunton Hospital Staffer Stabbed Several Times in ‘Unprovoked Attack’

TAUNTON — Taunton Police are looking for the suspect in what they called an "unprovoked" stabbing that took place at the city's Morton Hospital yesterday afternoon.
Police said at around 1:15 p.m. a hospital employee was outside the building on a break when a woman walked up behind her and stabbed her several times.
The incident took place at the side of the hospital closest to North Pleasant Street, next to the Thayer building and close to O'Keefe-Wade Funeral Home.

"This was an unprovoked attack on one of our healthcare providers," read a statement from the Taunton Police Department.
Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect.
Anyone with any information or who may haveseen anything suspicious in the area at that time is asked to call Detective Kramer at 508-821-1471 extension 3123.
