A Taunton gaming store is gearing up to open a second location in Plymouth and it's a dream come true for owner John Rhoads.

The store is called Bowser's Basement. Many SouthCoast gamers know the Silver City location well. Now the owner has his sights on a May opening for the additional spot, though he'll have a better idea of an exact date in the coming weeks.

Where exactly is the new location going to be located? Well, if you have ever visited Craft Beer Cellar, currently at 31 Main St., in downtown Plymouth, then you know exactly where the new Bowser's Basement is going.

Don't worry, beer fans. Craft Beer Cellar is moving a few doors down to a slightly bigger space.

"Plymouth has been on my radar for the past five years," Rhoads said of the new location. "I am just glad we are finally making it happen and I couldn't be any more thrilled for this opportunity. "

Rhoads (pictured with Craft Beer Cellar owner Tatum Stewart) shared with us that one of the biggest challenges for his retro video game store and arcade is getting inventory.

"If you have anything from the '80s and up for toys or video game-related items such as games, consoles etc., please bring them by the Taunton location as we prepare for the second store" Rhoads said.

It's an exciting time for Bowser's Basement.

Rhoads said the support his business has received from the community "means the world" to him and his family.

The last time I played video games was on a Sega back when they were cool. Were they ever cool? Looking at all the nostalgia over at the Taunton location, I'd say the answer is yes and I have a feeling there may be some Sega cartridges lingering, waiting to be played.

Soon, folks in Plymouth will have the chance to travel into the past for some fun and games, too.
