Taunton Easter Egg Drop Enlists the Help of Helicopter for Epic Easter Event
The Easter Bunny is calling in reinforcements for an epic Egg Drop in Taunton on Saturday, April 1st.
Hosted by Christ Community Church East Taunton, the Easter Egg Drop at Hopewell Park will have the help of a helicopter to drop over three thousand eggs below. Christ Community Church typically does an Easter event every year, but nothing quite like this.
“We heard of other people doing it around the country, so we went through the city and the parks and rec department to get the proper permits, and they suggested Hopewell Park, so we were up for it and we put this whole thing together,” said Pastor Matt Thornton.
The Church called upon Blue Hill Helicopters, a company in Norwood, MA that provides flight training, tours, and services.
One of the services is a “Golf Ball Drop” to add some thrill to a traditional raffle.
Look like the Church substituted the golf balls for Easter eggs to bring another level of fun to their Easter Egg Hunt.
“We will gather the kids by age group,” explained Pastor Thornton. “The helicopter is scheduled to come twice. They will hover over the field and drop 3 to 4,000 eggs, and as he moves away, the kids will run out, collect their eggs, and turn them in for a bag of candy.
Pastor Thornton estimates there will be around 2 to 3,000 kids in attendance for this free day of fun.
There will also be popcorn, cotton candy, drinks, a touch-a-truck event with fire and police, bounces houses and more, as the community comes together for a special holiday.
“We are really excited to bless the community with a free event for Easter and spread a little hope this holiday,” said Pastor Thornton.
Christ Community Church’s epic Egg Drop at Hopewell Park begins at 10 am at Hopewell Park in Taunton on Saturday, April 1st.
