Taunton residents are the latest victims of a new trend of placing cheese on cars and we want to get to the bottom of it.

This cheese bandit needs to be caught and we have some questions that need answering.

It wasn't long ago you would hear about bologna being slapped onto cars, pretty much ruining the paint job. Basically, it was just a bunch of bored adolescents with nothing better to do. I can give that trend a pass seeing a bologna is what I think to be an unnecessary lunch meat.

To waste perfectly good cheese is next level hate on so many levels. First, why waste cheese? It's apparently the new viral social media trend known as the "cheese challenge."

As you can probably imagine, it originated on TikTok and is absolutely a form or vandalism. Trying to peel off a slice of cheese from your car can be difficult and sometimes damaging to the paint job.

If you fall victim to the cheese challenge, the best way to remove it is to grab a damp cloth or sponge and gently rub to dissolve the cheese. Don't scrub. Then it's recommended to take it through a car wash to get any left over residue before it can eat away at the paint.

Here is an example of what the cheese challenge can look like:

It's just another ridiculous challenge that's truly just annoying more than anything. If you think you may want to take part, think again, because this could get you in trouble with the law. If this has happened to you, send us your photos and tell us where it happened.
