Eversource says they have about 500 customers in New Bedford currently affected by a power outage. Spokesman Mike Durand says they've dispatched a crew to determine the exact cause, while also working to re-route power in the meantime to lessen the number of customers affected...

Eversource reports that a little after 2 p.m., a piece of equipment near their Church Street substation in the far north end failed, causing a power outage for about 3,500 customers. Eversource restored power to 2,500 of those customers within four minutes, using automated switching equipment on their system to reroute power around the damaged equipment...

Don't get spooked if you see some low-flying helicopters around the SouthCoast for the rest of this week. Eversource announced it is conducting its semiannual aerial inspection of vegetation growing near its high-voltage lines across Eastern Massachusetts...
