Susan Pimentel Celebrates 30 Years at Fun 107
It was 30 years ago today, on April 27th 1992, our longest-tenured employee, Susan Pimentel, walked through the front doors at Fun 107 for the very first time.
We were then located at the current site of the New Bedford Harbor Hotel, 218 Union St.
Pimentel has worked here at Fun 107 and WBSM ever since.
At the old location, people walking and driving by the building could watch the on-air personalities broadcasting in the studios.
"The sales department was in the basement," says Pimentel. "And I can't begin to guess how much money I spent on parking tickets when we were there."
In the 30 years that followed, Pimentel has helped a countless number of SouthCoast small businesses grow through advertising. As businesses advertised with Fun 107 they experienced growth, which caused them to hire more people, then advertise more, and grow again.
One example Susan remembered was Cardi's Furniture.
"They grew so quickly. As the advertising grew, they just kept adding more and more locations, which led to more advertising."
Pimentel also mentioned First Citizens Federal Credit Union as a business that has grown a lot, hand in hand, with the advertising they've done on Fun 107.

"And definitely Sunrise Bakery and Coffee Shops. They were one of my first clients when I got here, and they are still on the air today. They have been advertising continuously for 30 years."
We looked back, and over the past 30 years, Pimentel is responsible for bringing close to $20 million into our building. She is a big reason why Fun 107 has had the resources to hire the on-air personalities that we have over the years. Most importantly, the money that she has brought in has allowed Fun 107 to expand our product beyond simply radio and into the digital world.
The SouthCoast business community is better in 2022 because of the work Susan Pimentel has done over the past 30 years.
