Strange Lights in the Sky Catch the Attention of the SouthCoast. What Were They?
The SouthCoast had their eyes to the sky last night. Several reports of a strange group of lights caught people's attention, leading to a swarm of conspiracy theories and ideas about what it could possibly be.
Was it a UFO? Or was it something much simpler?
Strange Lights Spotted in the Sky Around the SouthCoast
Around 6 pm on Sunday, Kayla Teixeira was at her home in Taunton when she spotted a strange formation of lights in the sky. She quickly took a video, showing a perfect line of lights traveling upward and slowly disappearing into the clouds.
“I thought it was a UFO,” she said. A woman in Wareham shared a similar photo. “(The lights) hovered for a minute then went straight up, disappearing one at a time,” she said. Was this a true UFO sighting?
The “Alien Battle in the Sky” Theory
After the strange lights were spotted in the sky, several online users were adamant that this was the start of the “Alien Battle in the Sky”. A TikTok user named Auntie Matrix explained the "battle." It all started with Cliff High, who, in the late 90’s, designed a program called the Web Bot Project to predict stock market trends.

Over time it evolved and expanded to global events, like natural disasters.
In 2009, it predicted a “battle in the sky” on December 3rd between UFOs and military fighter jets.
Supposedly, after this battle, it will be normal for us to see non-human intelligence in our everyday lives.

Strange SouthCoast Lights, Explained
Sorry, UFO enthusiasts, but this was not an alien encounter or the beginning of a battle in the sky. It was a Starlink sighting.
Starlink is the world’s first and largest satellite constellation. According to Starlink, the satellite uses a low Earth orbit to deliver broadband internet capable of supporting streaming, online gaming, video calls, and more.
Space.com reported SpaceX launched 24 Starlink internet satellites from Florida early Saturday morning.
A Starlink tracker reported “bright visibility” of Starlink over the SouthCoast at 5:49 pm. The tracker suggests bright visibility tonight at 5:51 pm and Tuesday night at 5:52 pm.
Will the battle in the sky actually happen? We’ll have to wait one more day to find out.
But the latest sighting in the sky is simply some low-hanging satellites.
