Bobby Baccalieri has spoken.

His real name is Steve Schirripa, but many know him as Tony Soprano’s brother-in-law from the hit HBO series The Sopranos.

The actor was recently dining in Westerly, Rhode Island when he gave the ultimate compliment to an Italian restaurant in the Historic Downtown area.

Longo Ristorante Welcomes Steve Schirripa

Longo Ristorante and Pizzeria is a staple in Westerly for high-quality Italian cuisine.

“Our Ristorante takes a snapshot in time when every Sunday dinner at Grandma’s was a family event,” said the restaurant online.

All meals, without exception, are cooked to order with the freshest ingredients, and it appears Schirripa has taken a liking to Longo’s meatballs.

“I’ve eaten a lot of meatballs in my day, my friends,” he declared, “this is the best meatball I’ve ever had. I’m not kidding you. I’m not just saying that. Trust me on this, it’s the best meatball I have ever had.”

The 'Best Meatball' Is Found in Westerly, Rhode Island

The latest praise from Schirripa wasn’t the first time he set foot in Longo’s. In September of last year, Schirripa was accompanied by fellow Sopranos star Michael Imperioli.

For Imperioli, the sauce on his pasta was so good, it required expletives to describe it.

For Baccalieri, it was another shout-out for the incredible meatballs.

In another video posted to the restaurant’s Instagram, Schirripa holds his dog named Willie as they both enjoy a healthy portion of Longo’s meatballs.

The Best of South Shore Bar Pizza

There's pizza, and then there's South Shore Bar Pizza. Birthed in Brockton (and to this writer, perfected in Randolph – Lynwood Café is the true G.O.A.T.), it must meet certain qualifications to be considered "SSBP," which include: it's a 10-inch pie; it has a thin, cracker-like crust with minimal "flop;" the cheese is a blend that features more cheddar than mozzarella; and bonus points if you take it home between two carboard-type plates wrapped in flat brown paper bag. They also usually come with "laced" or "burnt" edges (terminology depends on where you are ordering), which is when the sauce and cheese are extended all the way to the edge of the pan, creating a crispy, flavorful coating to the crust. We reached out to the hugely popular South Shore Bar Pizza Social Club Facebook group to ask the experts to share the best of the best (in no particular order).
