If you have some money in your flexible spending account, you may want to hurry up and use it before you lose it. If the funds aren't used by December 31, you lose whatever balance you may have had. Max amount to contribute annually is $2,500.00. Most people plan ahead and allocate the funds they think they can and will use on co-pays or items that their insurance won't fully cover. Here are some last minute spends to get your money's worth.

On your EYES:

Perhaps you need a new prescription? If not, you can probably buy a pair of prescription sunglasses for driving if you don't have them already. Also, planning ahead for 2015, if you're a candidate for Lasik, you can use FSA dollars toward the corrective eye surgery.

On Your TEETH:

Root canals are no fun, but if you need one, call your dentist and get it done as soon as possible. Get them to order your crown too,  Those items can cost a pretty penny. Even if your dental coverage covers 50%, you're still looking at an out of pocket cost of $600 and up. Fillings can add up too. Opt for the white if your insurance only covers silver fillings.
