Special Boston Pops Performance Celebrates 50 Years of ‘Jaws’
The movie Jaws is turning 50 this summer and Massachusetts has plenty of ways for people to celebrate.
The iconic beach film was shot almost entirely on Martha's Vineyard and the island has big plans for this big birthday.
They've dubbed their weeklong celebration starting June 19, 2025 "Amity Week," but it's actually a much earlier event in Boston that is a can't miss for massive Jaws fans.
There are lots of memorable things about the movie Jaws. Many lines are still quoted, filming locations are constantly visited and of course the iconic score is mimicked almost every time someone hits the water.

Boston Pops Performing Iconic Jaws Score Live
The music from composer John Williams is synonymous with tension and terror. It builds up suspense and dread every time it's used in the film.
Imagine how much more impactful it would be to hear it live while watching the film.
Turns out you can do just that with the Boston Pops on May 9 and 10 at Symphony Hall in Boston.

The orchestra plans to perform live while Jaws plays on a screen behind them, adding a new level of tension to the iconic track.
The shows will also feature live talks from New England Aquarium scientists about the movie's impact on shark research and awareness. Tickets are on sale now and this once-in-a-lifetime performance will probably sell out fast.
