Michelle Carter, the Plainville teen who in 2014 was charged with encouraging 18-year-old Conrad Roy III, her boyfriend at the time, to take his own life.

According to WCVB, she appeared in New Bedford District Court this past Thursday with her attorneys, Cory Madeira and Joseph Cataldo.  Both are known to be high profile lawyers.

Carter is being tried as a youth offender but has the charge of involuntary manslaughter. She is accused of sending several texts to Roy back in 2014, encouraging him to take his own life.  He was found dead in his truck in Fairhaven on July 13th of that same year.
