SouthCoast Dunkalatte Supplies Are Scarce

Looks like Dunkin' has hit a home run and struck out at the same time.

Its relatively new Dunkalatte drink has been a wildly, huge hit over the past couple of months. Demand for the coffee-flavored drink is sky high, which is exactly what you were hoping for if you are Dunkin'.

So what is the issue?

Demand is so high that the distributor can't keep up with providing the different Dunkin' locations with the ingredients to make the Dunkalatte. They are running out of the coffee milk to make the drinks much quicker than the next shipment can arrive to refill it.

Tom Daly owns a number of SouthCoast Dunkin' locations, including the new location on South Front Street near the New Bedford waterfront. He wants people to understand that they can usually get the drink at his stores.

"We still have the Dunkalatte, however we occasionally run out of the coffee milk because our distribution center can only send us so much," he said. "Some of our stores were out of coffee milk yesterday until their delivery came in (also yesterday)."

We reached out to Dunkin' corporate to ask about the status of the popular Dunkalatte.

"The buzz around the Dunkalatte has been overwhelming. Due to high demand, we're running low – but stay tuned," Dunkin' spokesperson Gabby Camacho said. "The Dunkalatte will be back before you know it. For the latest updates, we encourage guests to check availability with their local Dunkin' via the mobile app."

One Fun 107 listener, who works at a local Dunkin', wondered why they couldn't just use the coffee syrup they use in other beverages to make the coffee milk for the Dunkalattes.

"It's the exact same thing," she said.

Maybe it's time Dunkin' gave Silmo a shot?

Bottom line, it seems like Dunkin' knows what they have, and we won't have to wait too long before they solve the coffee milk distribution problem and make the Dunkalattes plentiful across the country.
