Are you the kind of person that starts looking for the Halloween candy at Market Basket the moment that last firework explodes over New Bedford Harbor? Have you already made candy apples? If you couldn't disagree more with Nancy Hall's open letter to Halloween stores that are already opened in early August, do we have a job for you.

Six Flags New England is holding open auditions for their Fright Fest nights, which are returning after a COVID break at the end of September. When else would you have auditions for Fright Fest then on Friday the 13th? Yes, they're happening this Friday, August 13, from 3 p.m. 7 p.m. at the Human Resources office at the park.

Six Flags will be hiring makeup artists, scare actors, singers, dancers, technicians, and more. Applicants must be 16 or over. People who are interested in becoming a ghoul or a monster can text the word "SCARE" to 220-MONSTER.

Six Flags said it is also offering a signing bonus. Anyone hired between now and October 11 will receive a bonus of between 10 and 15 percent of their total wages through Halloween.

Find out more about the specific job openings for Fright Fest at Six Flags on their site. The nice part for people living here on the SouthCoast is that Fright Fest nights don't happen every night of the Halloween season; they are relegated to select nights. Not only does this make Fright Fest more special and festive, it makes it more manageable to work them living here on the SouthCoast and making that drive.
