It's been a long few months, especially for those of us that went into this single. Dating hasn't been a priority but is certainly still happening, at least virtually.

I'm going to keep names and sex out of this post as I think maybe your answers would be biased depending on if it were female or male. So let's just say my friend has been on the dating app Hinge.

My friend, who lives on the SouthCoast, has been chatting it up with someone on this Hinge app that is actually from North Carolina.

They have been texting and have set up a virtual date or two. My friend has been considering visiting their Hinge match. At first, I'm thinking what a waste of time. Why chat it up with someone that probably won't ever amount to anything since they live several states away?

Well, it appears they have been planning to travel to one another to finally meet in person. With everything we have going on, it seems like it may be too risky.

So my initial thought would be, no way, but after thinking about it for a while I thought, why not? I defaulted to giving them the advice of YOLO! Yes, I think it's so important to take care of our mental health as well as taking all the precautions.

What do you think, though? Is it time to take the leap and go on an actual date? What would you say are the steps that need to be taken in order to make sure everyone stays safe?

Have you ever been in this position before?
