A unique way to expand your social circle or maybe meet your future love interest is now in Boston, and people are talking.

If you are single or have ever been single, you can probably remember your friends constantly trying to set you up. They mean well, but how often does it actually work out?

Maybe you just want to make new friends, or to expand or switch up that social circle you are in. I'm with you on both fronts, so when I came across this new website called Pitch-A-Friend, I had to dive in and know more.

This isn't just any social gathering. Nope! The meetups are actually set up more like a casual business meeting with presentations. These meetups will happen at breweries, bars, and other fun places in the Boston area. They already have some really popular Boston spots on their list.

According to the website, these presentations are friends pitching their single friends, who may or may not be at the event. I personally would want to be there to see the look on everyone's faces while a friend tries to sell me.

There is a vetting process, I'm sure. At least I hope, since you have to share your presentation with the people running the site once you are invited to an event. Let's at least assume they know how to use PowerPoint and other presentation software, so that's a good start.

It's definitely a unique approach to meeting people. It's still early for the concept and it just expanded to Boston within the last few months.

Right now, there aren't any planned events but I started following the Facebook page to see if any pique my interest. Dating is scary, so why not have a friend coming along and give me an ego boost?

Would you try something like this out if it came to the SouthCoast?
