The Westport Fair has it all from tractor-pulls to fried dough to country music and even livestock... but it's safe to say that there is no alcohol sold.

I've been to a fair share of fairs in my life and most have been dry, but some have allowed alcohol. Yes, I understand that this is a family-based event and that there are kids everywhere.... but that didn't stop Chuck-e-Cheese, did it?

I'm not saying that you need to serve beer or alcohol to have a good time, I'm simply pointing out the fact that if your of age to drink, then perhaps an ice cold beer while watching the tractor pulls in the stands is nothing to big to ask for.

Once again, I'm not saying the Westport Fair is wrong for keeping alcohol out of the fairgrounds, but perhaps maybe a designated tent or area could bring more revenue to the Westport Fair Committee.

I've been a resident of Westport for over 27 years and I'm proud of where I'm from. I love the backwoods feeling where you're not surrounded by concrete or tall buildings. You breathe in fresh air rather than exhaust. Everybody knows everybody and quite frankly, it's a Beautiful place to live.... This post is simply a suggestion and a personal opinion, I've been going to the Westport Fair all my life and I'm happy either way.

What do you think?
