Sharing the Harvest Community Farm is a program of YMCA SOUTHCOAST. The ‘Ride for Food - Off the Beaten Path’ event is an opportunity to support the Sharing the Harvest Community Farm through cycling. The organization is hosting a virtual fundraiser for participants to go on bike rides with individual teams.

Sharing the Harvest Community Farm is contributing to the larger mission of work around food insecurity by joining other organizations under the umbrella of Three Squares New England (TSNE). TSNE has helped its partner food pantries, food rescue organizations, and community farms raise money through a bike ride for the last nine years.

SHCF is riding to raise money to support its mission: alleviate hunger for children, families, and seniors across southeastern Massachusetts; promote volunteerism and build community through neighbors helping neighbors.

The farm donates 100% of its produce to local community organizations that distribute it to our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many more people need this support now than ever before. The need is urgent and critical.
YMCA SOUTHCOAST will ride as a virtual team on Saturday, June 27. You can register for that team HERE.

If that date doesn’t work for you, that’s totally fine. You have the option to plan your own ride as fundraising will continue through Sunday, October 4. You choose what date, time, and your teammates. You can choose your own route, or pick from the two scenic routes they have mapped out from last year. There is a 28-mile route, and a 40-mile route listed on the site.

If you aren’t crazy about a bike ride, that’s ok too. You can still help the cause by making a donation to the YMCA team.
