Sensory-Friendly Hayride in Dighton This Weekend
The Dighton-Rehoboth Special Education Parents Advisory Council invites you and your family to the second annual Sensory-Friendly Hayride at Araujo Farms located at 1522 Williams Street in Dighton.
The hayride will take place on Saturday, October 19 at 11 am. All are welcome. The cost of the hayride is $6 per person. The Dighton-Rehoboth SEPAC reminds us that this is not a fundraiser. A final headcount will be due by Wednesday, October 16. Please RSVP on the Facebook Event or by emailing drsepac@gmail.com.
"The SEPAC, a parent-run group, is an important resource for parents of children with special needs. We meet monthly during the regular school year to share important information on issues involving the education, health, safety, and rights of children who have IEPs. As a group, we are committed to helping both parents, educators and the community build support for special education programs. We help one another navigate through issues such as special education laws, regulations, mandates, and parental rights, along with resources that are available to you." - Dighton-Rehoboth SEPAC
*The wagons will not contain hay so as to be sensitive to those with allergies and sensory concerns.
Everyone wants to enjoy the fall season and all the activities that come with it. That includes hayrides, even if there isn't any hay. The fun comes from spending time with your family and friends. And if this group decided to adjust a beloved fall activity so that those on the spectrum can participate, good for them.
