The 107th Feast of the Blessed Sacrament is just a few days away.  It's been one we've had circled on our calendar for years. You know, because, well, Fun 107.

Needless to say, COVID canceled the feast two years in a row. So, instead of the 107th feast happening in 2021, we're finally reaching the milestone in 2023.

To celebrate the most important feast of them all, we decided we had to go big or go home. We're giving away a vacation to the Azores. Perfect, right? What better way to celebrate the world's biggest Portuguese feast than to send people to a Portuguese place?

We're giving away $50 packs of feast food tickets. We're even giving away limited-edition Festa 107 T-shirts.  We were thrilled to head into feast week with such a strong plan.

What's the Problem?

To enter to win the vacation to the Azores, you'll need to download the Fun 107 app.  A complete set of contest rules can be found here.

Here's the problem.

When we shared the contest announcement online yesterday, we started to get complaints. Why were we sending the winner to Sao Miguel instead of Madeira? After all, the feast is promoted each year by Club Madeirense S. S. Sacramento and prominently features Madeira wine. Madeira is not part of the Azores like is the case with Sao Miguel.

If we're being honest, it's a valid question.  Why not give away a vacation to Madeira?  Truthfully, that would have made a lot of sense.

So, why didn't we go that way? When we were brainstorming what to give away at the feast and someone thought of a vacation to Portugal, we ran with it.  We just thought, "We'll give away a vacation to Portugal at the Portuguese feast."  Done. End of story.

Admittedly, we fumbled and didn't make the obvious connection to Madeira. I own it.

Instead, we just asked ourselves where we thought the most popular Portuguese destination would be for residents of the SouthCoast.  That's how we came up with Sao Miguel, where so many are from or have ancesry. We thought most people in the Fun 107 audience would absolutely love to win a vacation there.

There's also the fact that the feast itself is giving away a vacation to Madeira, as well.  So, instead of us giving away another Madeiran vacation, we thought the Azores would be nice.

So, we put the question to you.  If you were lucky enough to win a vacation from Fun 107 on the occasion of the 107th Feast, where would you want to go?
