For the 13th year, Ballard Park in Newport will be covered in thousands of lights for just one weekend in February.

Mark your calendars for February 22nd, 23rd and 24th if you don't want to miss out on the Illuminated Garden.

This FREE event is from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. each night and will feature lights displayed on the trees as well as unique features throughout Ballard Park's three acre quarry meadow.

Of course the Illuminated Garden takes places at night, outdoors, in February...so eventgoers are reminded to dress for the weather as well as the trails.

Warm, winter layers and sturdy shoes or boots are suggested by those planning the event at Ballard Park. As well as bringing a flashlight to get to the park.

Ballard Park is at the intersection of Hazard Rd & Wickham Rd in Newport, RI. You can park at Rogers High School and then walk down Hazard Rd to reach the Illuminated Garden.

The event is absolutely free, but donations for Ballard Park, Newport's only nature preserve, will be accepted.

You can learn more about the Illuminated Garden at BallardPark.org or by calling 401-619-3377.
