Rhode Island Rapping Sensation Appears on Ellen [VIDEO]

She was a viral sensation with some serious karaoke skills, now this Rhode Island native is on Ellen.

You probably came across Mary Halsey's video this summer and watched her break it down to Missy Elliot's "Work It."

Well Missy Elliot did too, so clearly she couldn't miss an opportunity to surprise her "funky, white sister" during her appearance on Ellen, which aired today (Sept 13) on NBC.

In a classic Ellen DeGeneres move, the talk show host not only had Halsey on her show...she surprised her with a visit from Missy Elliot herself.

Halsey gained internet fame with her karaoke version of "Work It" and of course had to perform it on Ellen during her appearance.

And in the middle of her performance, Elliot pops out to finish the song with her!

Needless to say Mary Halsey was surprised.

Her moment of shock didn't stop the show however. Halsey handled the duet like a pro and kept right on rapping with Elliot by her side.

Even actress Kristen Bell seemed to be loving the performance.

No word on what comes next for Mary Halsey, but she was a delight to watch on Ellen so maybe more media stops before she heads back to Rhode Island?
