REHOBOTH (WBSM) — Rehoboth Police said there is no threat to the public after the body of a man was found in a driveway this morning.

Police Response to Brook Street Call

Police said that at about 9:07 a.m., the department responded to a residence on Brook Street for a report of an unidentified man lying unconscious in the driveway of the home.

Patrol officers arrived at the scene along with an ambulance. The man was then pronounced deceased.

Victim Identified as Local Resident

Police said there were no signs of trauma to the body, no suspicious circumstances and no threat to the public. It was determined that the deceased was a 67-year-old man from a nearby home. His name has not been released.

The case remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office and Rehoboth Police.

The Victims in the New Bedford Highway Murders

The New Bedford highway murders took place in 1988, with the bodies discovered into 1989. The killer is confirmed to have killed nine women and suspected of murdering at least two more. Although there were at least three different men considered as suspects by the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, the murders remain unsolved and the families of the victims are still searching for closure.
