Authorities Seek Info on Man Who Married ‘Lady of the Dunes’ Before Her Death
Now that the “Lady of the Dunes” has been identified, authorities are seeking information about a man she married shortly before her death.
On October 31, the FBI identified the remains that were found in July 1974 in the dunes of Provincetown – the oldest unidentified homicide victim in Massachusetts – as those of Ruth Marie Terry, a Tennessee woman.
The investigation into her death remains ongoing through the Massachusetts State Police, the Cape & Islands District Attorney’s Office, and the Provincetown Police. On Wednesday, state police released a photo and information about a man Terry married several months before her body was found.
It is believed the two were married in February of 1974.
State police said the man is identified as Guy Rockwell Muldavin, described as a white male who was born on October 27, 1923. They said he was also known to use the names Raoul Guy Rockwell and Guy Muldavin Rockwell. Muldavin is deceased, state police said.
In addition, it was released that Ruth Marie Terry was also known to use aliases as well, including Teri Marie Vizina, Terry M. Vizina, and Teri Sharon.
Terry was 37 years old at the time of her death. She was killed from a blow to the head thought to have occurred several weeks prior to the discovery of her body, and was discovered with her hands missing, her head nearly severed, and the left side of her skull crushed.
Her body was found lying naked on a beach blanket with her head on folded jeans.
Authorities are seeking information on the whereabouts of both Terry and Muldavin in 1973 and 1974 in the New England area.
