In case you feel like the SouthCoast and Cape Cod don't get enough national attention, there's a new television series coming that takes place in nearby Provincetown.

For the first summer in a long time, I actually got to hang out on the Cape and enjoy some of the festivities in Provincetown. It really is a one-of-a-kind place. So the fact that I came across a teaser trailer to a show that is based and filmed in P-Town got me all kinds of excited.

Before I share too much, here is the teaser posted on Facebook:

This teaser doesn't show much of what I have come to know P-town to be but I'm excited to see and recognize all the spots I have visited.

It's rumored that this series, which will air on the Starz network, is based on some true stories – which kind of freaks me out a little.

The show is called Hightown and it follows the life of "Jackie Quinones played by Monica Raymund, a hardcore partying lesbian in P-Town and a federal Fishery Service Agent who uses her gun and badge to seduce the women tourists. Her life completely changes when she discovers a body in Cape Cod Bay, and finds herself at the center of the Cape’s heroin epidemic."

Sounds like this could get intense fast.

As you can see in the Facebook posts, high tides and high stakes lead me to believe this show will be action-packed. Kind of the opposite of what I think of when I think about the Cape.

A few more teaser videos are set to be released before the series airs and I'll be sure to keep you posted once they announce its start date. I'm unsure if I even have the Starz network with my cable package but I'll call the cable company if not. Hopefully, it's worth the extra money.

Will you subscribe to Starz just to see this show filmed right down the road?
